The mixing process has commenced for Mastodon‘s eighth studio album. The group have enlisted that album’s producer, David Bottrill (Tool, Stone Sour) to handle the mixing for the effort, which they currently hope to release in September/October of this year.
Appearing recently on ‘Talking Metal‘ (see below), the band’s guitarist Bill Kelliher said Bottrill has been remotely mixing the effort in recent weeks with roughly half of the tracks having already been completed. According to Kelliher, it’s the band’s “fullest, biggest-sounding record we’ve done so far.”
