While there’s no shortage of DIY idealism to be found in hardcore scene they spawned from, Code Orange have increasingly been taking the practice of doing it themselves to a new level in recent years. From designing their own sets for their elaborate livestreams to vacuforming their Mudman masks and more, the group are regularly making the most out of what they have.
For their latest music video, the animated “Autumn And Carbine“, they once went above and beyond with relatively everyday items, as the below behind the scenes look at the motion capture reveals.
To pull off the performance parts of the video, they utilized an Xbox One Kinect for motion capture, a PlayStation Move controller for tracking and a broken Swiffer. The video was directed by the band’s own programmer, vocalist, etc. Eric “Shade” Balderose and frontman Jami Morgan under their NOWHERE2RUN Productions banner. Shade also took on the animation duties for the clip with 3D modeling help from Bleys Ingram.
