Word of Deftones debuting a ‘new song and visual’ during this coming weekend’s ‘Adult Swim Festival‘ raised some eyebrows today. That virtual event will be held November 13th-14th via adultswimfestival.com and will feature numerous previously unseen performances and more with sets from Mastodon, Blood Incantation and others among those due to air.
As for the aforementioned ‘new song and visual’, it has since been confirmed that it will be the debut of the Aaron Hymes directed visual accompaniment to Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda‘s remix of the Deftones/Maynard James Keenan collaborative track, “Passenger“. It is set to debut at 12:12am EDT / 09:12pm PDT on Saturday, November 14th (technically Friday night).
Shinoda put his spin on that track for the upcoming 20th anniversary edition of Deftones‘ platinum 2000 album “White Pony“. The band enlisted numerous special guests to remix and reimagine the album’s tracks for a companion album dubbed “Black Stallion” that will be included with release. You can find more details on it here, with it slated for a December 11th release date.
Deftones‘ latest studio album “Ohms” was released this past September.
