Stone Sour have gone on an ‘indefinite hiatus’ according to the band’s frontman Corey Taylor. Speaking on ‘The Green Room With Neil Griffiths‘ podcast, Taylor stated of the band’s current status:

“I feel like Stone Sour has kind of run its course for now. We all talked as a band and decided to kind of put Stone Sour on indefinite hiatus. That’s the way it is. We’ve put it on the shelf for now. Everybody’s kind of going and doing their own thing.”

The decision to put the band on the shelf for the time being shouldn’t be much of a shock as Taylor has ramped up his focus on his solo career in recent months. In this recent interview with Kerrang!, Taylor made no mention of any plans for Stone Sour anything in the near future. Instead he revealed that he intends to finish up the latest Slipknot touring commitments and further pursue his solo career with more albums for it already taking shape.

Taylor‘s debut solo album “CMFT” will be released on October 02nd through Roadrunner Records. Meanwhile, this year has seen Stone Sour guitarist Josh Rand share dozens of demos from the band’s vaults.
