Hit Parader‘, a music magazine that became entrenched within the heavy metal and hard rock culture from the 1980s until its 2008 shuttering, has been resurrected in a new form. Spearheaded by Sumerian Records, etc. founder Ash Avildsen (serving as CEO), music personality Matt Pinfield (VP of artist relations) and Josh Bernstein (president), the brand will be shifting their focus to TV, film, live events and other projects.

Variety report that the trio have a slate of projects in the works, including the return of ‘Mayhem Festival‘, ‘The Golden Gods‘ awards show and ‘The Rock N’ Roll Roast‘. On the TV front is the already completed first season of ‘American Satan‘ spin-off TV series ‘Paradise City‘, starring members of Black Veil Brides, Asking Alexandria and more alongside Bella Thorne and others.

Music-related competition shows ‘No Cover‘ and ‘Roadie Rage‘ are also in the works, among other projects. Notably, a resurrection of the print ‘Hit Parader‘ magazine is not among their plans. Bernstein said of the company:

“…With Hit Parader, we saw a way to finally form the ultimate tag-team and marry our shared vision creating a rock ‘n’ roll studio focused on original content and immersive experiences.”

Avildsen added:

“We will create, produce and/or acquire original IP. We will then do our best to get that content out to the masses and monetize it every way we can.”
