The long road to recording Megadeth‘s sixteenth studio album appears to finally be paying off. Originally postponed amid Dave Mustaine‘s successful cancer battle last year, the group were later forced to postpone the sessions once again this past March as a result of COVID-19 concerns.
Now comes word that the band’s bassist David Ellefson intends to lay down his parts in a Nashville, TN studio this week. Speaking to the ‘The Rock N Ragni Show‘, Ellefson commented:
“I’m actually just now working on some Megadeth songs to go and record. I’m gonna be going to Nashville later this week to get started recording the Megadeth album.”
Earlier this month the band’s frontman/guitarist Dave Mustaine shared this shot of himself in the studio, working on the new record. If you missed the news, Megadeth just postponed the first leg of their North American tour with Lamb Of God, Trivium and In Flames, you can read about that here.
