It Looks Like The ‘Mayhem Festival’ Will Return In 2020

Though there’s no details to be had yet as to how it will all transpire, it appears that the ‘Mayhem Festival‘ will return in 2020. A post made via the dormant festival’s social media was shared yesterday (December 01st) and reads as follows:

If you’re unaware, the image itself is of actor Sylvester Stallone playing the character of Rocky Balboa–a fictional boxer renowned for his comeback fights. This past April saw one of the festival’s co-founders, John Reese, seemingly hint at a possible return for the fest. Notably, the bio for the above-mentioned Instagram account currently reads as follows: “hindsight is 2020.. and so is the return of mayhem. 🧐”

The once annual traveling heavy metal/hard rock music festival originally came to an end in 2015. A lack of viable headlining acts along with allegedly exorbitant demands from metal bands when it came down to contracts were originally cited as reasons for the festival’s initial demise.

Kevin Lyman, who is the other co-founder of the ‘Mayhem Festival‘, brought his long-running ‘Vans Warped Tour‘ to an end in 2018, transitioning to a series of 25th anniversary destination festivals earlier this year. Whether or not the ‘Mayhem Festival‘ does something similar remains to be seen. Lyman himself recently candidly spoke on the highs and lows of running the ‘Vans Warped Tourhere.
