Update #3: November 01st, 2019 12:43 PM:

Rolling Stone have since confirmed Rage Against The Machine‘s reunion plans, citing a ‘source close to the band’.

Update #2: November 01st, 2019 11:30 AM:

Billboard.com have confirmed via unspecified sources familiar with the annual ‘Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival‘ that Rage Against The Machine‘s two Indio, CA shows will indeed find them appearing as headliners at the event. They were unable to verify the veracity of the other dates listed in the band’s Instagram post however.

Update: November 01st, 2019 09:23 AM:

Forbes are now reporting that they have confirmed the authenticity of dates via a longtime band associate, Wayne Kamemoto.

Original Story:

Overnight an alleged Rage Against The Machine Instagram account proclaiming a 2020 live return for the band emerged online. Thus far it has shared a single post of an image taken during recent Chilean protests captioned with the following dates:

El Paso, TX March 26, 2020
Las Cruces, NM March 28, 2020
Phoenix, AZ March 30, 2020
Indio, CA April 10, 2020
Indio, CA April 17, 2020

That same image was also shared on social media earlier this week by the band’s guitarist Tom Morello, though not in this context. With Rage Against The Machine having been inactive since 2011, the news should likely be treated with a giant grain of salt, as it has yet to make its way to any of the band or their members’ established social media accounts or their official website.

That said, as of press time the post is liked by actress Juliette Lewis, who has been in a relationship with Rage Against The Machine drummer Brad Wilk for some time now. Until there is some more official confirmation however, it’s probably best not to get your hopes up.
