DragonForce have set “Extreme Power Metal” as the title to their new album which they will release on September 27th via Metal Blade. The group enlisted Damien Rainaud (Fear Factory, Once Human) for the sessions, which took place in Los Angeles, CA. The track “Highway To Oblivion” serves as the first single from it and a video for it has been released below.

Additionally, that song has also now been made playable in Harmonix‘s virtual reality rhythm shooter, ‘Audica‘. Pre-orders for the ten-song album are available now via this location with the more expensive bundles featuring some retro Nintendo Entertainment System inspired offerings.

Speaking of the album, the band’s guitarist Herman Li commented “This album again combines the best of DragonForce in an even bigger, more epic way than we have ever done before. We are so excited for fans to hear it!”

Notably the band worked with Epica‘s Coen Janssen on the keyboards for the record in the wake of last year’s departure of Vadim Pruzhanov from the group. The band’s guitarist/vocalist Sam Totman said of that “We worked really closely with Coen on this new album. We are so happy with what he has brought into this new album. Every fan will be so happy to hear his majestic playing!”
