It seems that The Original Misfits reunion may be over by the year’s end. The reunion between frontman Glenn Danzig and Jerry Only reportedly came about as a term of a legal settlement between the pair. A term in an early draft of that settlement had the pair contractually obligated to perform no fewer than 10 reunion shows together. Should the band now solely be focused on completing that obligation, this week’s reveal of a new show in Oakland, CA would have their agreement fulfilled by late-September.
The shows thus far have been high successful, repeatedly grossing over a million dollars each night. While the boost of income would seemingly suggest that the pair may want to continue on, Danzig himself recently stated otherwise.
The tenth show to be announced will be held at The Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA on September 11th with Rancid, The Damned and Cro-Mags tapped to open. Tickets for it went on sale to the general public yesterday, June 21st. The current schedule for the band runs as follows:
06/29 Los Angeles, CA – Banc Of California Stadium (feat. Rise Against, The Distillers, Anti-Nowhere League & Cro-Mags)
09/07 Denver, CO – Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre (feat. The Distillers, The Damned & Cro-Mags)
09/11 Oakland, CA – Oracle Arena (feat. Rancid, The Damned & Cro-Mags)
09/14 Seattle, WA – White River Amphitheatre (feat. The Distillers, The Damned & Cro-Mags)
