Crobot‘s new album “Motherbrain” has newly been confirmed for an August 23rd release on Mascot Records. Word of the album’s release arrives alongside the below debut of a second single from the outing, “Low Life“. Recording sessions for the album took place with the band co-producing alongside Corey Lowery of Seether, Stereomud, etc. fame. For now, pre-orders for the outing have been launched here.

The band’s guitarist/vocalist Chris Bishop commented of the release:

“When we were making the record, it was all about ‘meat, strings, and emotion.’ It explains the thought process. We’d usually start the day with chicken biscuits from Chik-fil-A. Obviously, I would play the strings. The emotion comes from the sheer power of me playing.”

His bandmate, vocalist, harmonica player Brandon Yeagley, added “It had nothing to do with the chicken biscuits.” Yeagley also opened up about the album as well, stating:

“I think it’s a much darker record, musically, lyrically, and thematically. It’s some of the heaviest material we’ve ever done, but it’s also some of the funkiest. We’re widening the Crobot spectrum even more. It’s the catchiest too. It’s less about wizards and dragons and more about everyday turmoil and the struggles of life. Corey made it digestible and appealing for not just dudes with beards or chicks with dicks.”

The group have the following four shows planned around the album’s release:

08/22 Brooklyn, NY – Saint Vitus
08/23 Teaneck, NJ – Debonair Music Hall
08/24 Andreas, PA – Skookstock
08/25 Asbury Park, NJ – Asbury Lanes
