Slipknot have parted ways with their percussionist Chris Fehn following word that Fehn had filed suit against the band over an accounting dispute. According to this report, Fehn had accused his bandmates—primarily Corey Taylor and M. Shawn Crahan—of unfairly distributing the profits from the band, alleging they had funneled bigger shares to themselves via several Slipknot-affiliated businesses.
Fehn is said to be seeking a full accounting of the band’s infrastructure and assets to establish damages and profits allegedly owed. In a new statement, the band revealed that they have since ousted Fehn, stating:
“Slipknot‘s focus is on making album #6, and our upcoming shows around the world, our best ever. Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot. We are disappointed that he chose to point fingers and manufacture claims, rather than doing what was necessary to continue to be a part of Slipknot. We would have preferred he not take the path that he has, but evolution in all things is a necessary part of this life.
Long live the Knot.”
