While Ozzy Osbourne continues to recover from the flu, he’s at least received some good news in the form of some more hardware for his wall. His 1980 solo debut album “Blizzard Of Ozz” has just gone 5x multi-platinum in the U.S., having been certified by the RIAA on February 04th, 2019. It was last certified 4x multi-platinum on August 15th of 1997.
His 2003 greatest hits album “The Essential Ozzy Osbourne” has also landed a new 2x multi-platinum certification on the 04th of this month as well, having previously gone platinum on March 03rd of 2016.
In other news, In This Moment have added another plaque to their collection as well with the single “Whore” off their gold selling 2012 album “Blood” having officially gone gold as of February 05th, 2019.
A platinum album in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
