Maynard James Keenan Says Tool’s New Album Won’t Arrive In April

Long suffering Tool fans were given a glimpse of hope late last month when this footage of the band’s drummer Danny Carey emerged online. In that video Carey can be seen saying that the band were shooting for a mid-April release for their long-awaited follow-up to 2006’s “10,000 Days“.

Not long after that, some new visual elements began to surface on Tool‘s official website—a spurt of activity many hoped correlated with the apparent new album. Unfortunately, it looks like said album won’t be arriving in April as the band’s frontman Maynard James Keenan has poured some cold water on that via social media late last night (February 04th):

Keenan himself gave perhaps the most clear update on the band’s progress with the album back in early January, stating at the time that his parts were tracked months ago and that mixing was already underway. The band began the official recording sessions for the album around the spring of last year with Joe Barresi Queens Of The Stone Age, Chevelle) behind the boards.
