Frustrated Staind Vocalist Aaron Lewis Tells Texas Audience: “I Don’t Know How To Speak Spanish. I’m American”

Staind frontman Aaron Lewis walked offstage to a chorus of boos during last night’s (February 02nd) show at the Pharr Events Center in Pharr, TX. Lewis, who has a long history of being combative with audiences, was trying to quiet down the audience for a solo live performance and can be seen in the below footage saying:

“…I’m gonna try to do something different and special, but you’re not gonna hear it if you’re not quiet. No, you don’t understand — like fucking church! Quiet.”

“I’m only gonna wait for so long, and then I’m just gonna say ‘good night.”

After waiting some more, Lewis stated:

“I don’t understand what you’re not getting. I know I have a microphone, so you can hear me. You’re not gonna hear the song unless it’s this quiet.”

When someone in the audience suggested telling the crowd to be quiet in Spanish, Lewis responded:

“I’m sorry. I don’t know how to speak Spanish. I’m American.”

After waiting some more for the crowd to quiet down, he eventually gave up and walked off stage after saying:

“Thank you very much. Have a great night.”
