System Of A Down’s John Dolmayan Recruits Avenged Sevenfold’s M. Shadows For His Covers Project

System Of A Down drummer John Dolmayan‘s long-gestating album from his These Grey Men side project should finally see the light of day sometime around the spring. $55,215 was successfully crowdfunded for the covers project back in 2014.

Dolmayan conceived the project with his friend James Hazley with covers of Radiohead, Outkast and David Bowie, among others originally being planned. According to the below interview, Avenged Sevenfold vocalist M. Shadows will be guesting on a track with Dolmayan commenting:

“There’s some cool artists on it. Serj sang two songs. The Avenged Sevenfold singer – I don’t know if you know Matt, he’s fantastic. Really nice guy, by the way, and he sang a song.”

Dolmayan also revealed that Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine, Prophets Of Rage, etc. fame also guested on a track. As reported last January, Dolmayan‘s System Of A Down bandmate Serj Tankian tracked vocals for covers of David Bowie‘s “Starman” and Talking Heads‘ “Road To Nowhere” for the project.
