If you ever wondered why Shadows Fall have largely been on hiatus since 2015, drummer Jason Bittner has given his blunt assessment via Twitter. Speaking on the matter in reply to a story about the band’s 2009 album “Retribution” turning ten this year and the ‘unfortunate hiatus’ they took, Bittner offered:
““Unfortunate Hiatus” for @shadowsfallband because people stopped coming to see us……that’s the reality- we wore out our welcome it seems – sometimes you need to take a rest”

In the time since they went on hiatus Bittner has joined Flotsam And Jetsam before moving on to Overkill. Lead guitarist Jon Donais joined Anthrax, while rhythm guitarist/vocalist Matt Bachand joined Act Of Defiance. Meanwhile, vocalist Brian Fair can be found fronting Downpour and Hell Night.
