As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis Appears To Have Dressed As A Character From ‘The Purge’ For Halloween

As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis made what will no doubt be a controversial choice his apparent Halloween costume this year. Screencaps of an Instagram story (see below) he shared found him dressed as what appears to be the ‘Polite Leader’ character from ‘The Purge‘ movie/TV series.

That film/TV franchise centers around an alternate future where crime has been made legal for one day of the year and generally involves characters indulging in gruesomely murderous tendencies.

Given Lambesis‘ criminal past—namely having spent roughly two years in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of solicitation of another to commit murder—some have seen his choice to be in poor taste.

That aforementioned charge stemmed from Lambesis unknowingly attempting to hire an undercover cop posing as a hitman at the time to murder his then wife, Meggan Lambesis, back in 2013. He was paroled back in 2016. The band themselves just launched their first proper tour back this weekend..

Lambesis has issued several apologies since his parole, including this video discussion. Dates for the band’s U.S. tour with Within The Ruins and Kingdom Of Giants include:
