After some delay, As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis appeared in court again today, February 25th. According to nbcsandiego.com, he entered a guilty plea in the case and faces nine years in jail as a result.
Lambesis pled guilty to a charge of solicitation of another to commit murder. He faced the charge after allegedly attempting to hire an undercover detective posing as a hitman to murder his estranged wife, Meggan Lambesis. Some transcripts from the case thus far were posted last week and can be read here.
He also faces a $2 million USD civil suit that was filed on August 02nd, 2013 by Meggan. She is seeking around for emotional distress, medical expenses, punitive damages and attorney’s fees.
Update – February 25th 1:14pm:
While the court clerk in the case was quoted as saying that Lambesis will serve nine years, Lambgoat are reporting that a plea deal was reached in the case. Thus, currently Lambesis is facing a maximum sentence of nine years and a $10,000 fine.
The exact term of his potential incarceration has yet to be disclosed with official sentencing to take place on May 02nd with Judge Carlos Armour presiding.
