Avenged Sevenfold’s M. Shadows Says He’s Been Medically Cleared To Start Humming And Doing Light Vocal Warm-Ups

Avenged Sevenfold vocalist M. Shadows has commented on his ongoing period of vocal cord rest. Earlier this summer the band cancelled their planned summer tour with Prophets Of Rage and Ho99o9 after he developed a blood blister on his vocal cords. Speaking recently via email with Revolver, he said of his condition:

“It’s been fine … just a lot of rest. Luckily, I didn’t have surgery. I was just put on a long vocal rest until the swelling went down. A lot of singers get this at some point, so it’s nothing to worry about. I’ve already been cleared to start humming and doing light warm-ups.”

When asked what has been the hardest part about having to remain silent over the past few months, he offered: “not speaking when you are out in public is tough. People don’t understand and think you’re full of shit.”

The band will have a new EP titled “Black Reign” in stores tomorrow, September 21st. It will feature their various contributions to the ‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops‘ video games over the years, including “Mad Hatter, their new track for the upcoming ‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4‘. A video for that song debuted online earlier today, September 20th, and can be seen here.
