Vocalist Maynard James Keenan has given a brief update on where Tool are at with the recording of their long-awaited new album. Speaking via his Twitter today (September 10th,) he stated:

The album is expected out in 2019 and will be the band’s follow-up to their 2006 album, “10,000 Days“. The group began tracking it in March with producer Joe Barresi Queens Of The Stone Age, Chevelle), though they took a break from the studio to do some touring in May.
