The last time a Five Finger Death Punch audience was surprised to find the band fronted by Bad Wolves singer Tommy Vext led to Five Finger Death Punch frontman Ivan Moody temporarily quitting the band in a meltdown that led to another stint in rehab. Vext later filled in for a string of performances that followed. A now sober Moody has previously discussed how he felt about that, you can find his thoughts here.
This latest time was more mischevious however, as the band had the curtain drop for their set last night (August 31st) in Noblesville, IN with Vext on vocals for “Lift Me Up” and Moody initially nowhere to be seen. I say initially as Moody eventually surprised fans by joining in shortly after with Vext staying around to guest on the song. Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Zoltan Bathory shared the below footage of that.
Both bands are winding down this summer tour together and will be back out again later this year on this fall run.
Hahah ?? so tonight when the curtain dropped – we had @TVext standing on stage instead of Ivan ?? it was funny as hell – all the confused faces thinking in unison “oh nooo here we go again” ?? then Ivan ran out and sang the song with Tommy #5FDPrank pic.twitter.com/14CyOxV8zf
