August 21st will see Alice In Chains perform a special acoustic set atop the Space Needle in Seattle, WA. The set will find the band being the first to perform in the ‘The Loupe’, which features a revolving glass floor 500 feet in the air and is part of a recent $100 million dollar renovation of the landmark. SiriusXM will later broadcast the performance on Friday, August 31st at 5pm/8pm PT. The band’s guitarist/vocalist Jerry Cantrell commented of the opportunity:
“I’ve visited the Space Needle many times in my life and it’s going to be a real honor and a total trip for us to play there. We’re so proud of this album and to be able to celebrate its release with a performance at one of our town’s most iconic landmarks is really special. It sorta reminds me of the time we did the ‘Again‘ video, but instead of being 6 feet in the air rocking out on a glass floor, we’ll be 50 stories high…slight difference.”
Alice In Chains‘ new album “Rainier Fog” will see an August 24th release and the band have some other hometown activities planned leading up to its arrival. Among them are the Seattle Mariners hosting an ‘Alice in Chains Night’ on August 20th, while special pop-up shops will be open on August 23rd & 24th.
