NOFX Draw Criticism For Joking About Las Vegas Concert Shooting At Their Las Vegas Show

NOFX are facing backlash for comments they made while performing at the ‘Punk Rock Bowling & Music Festival‘ in Las Vegas, NV this past weekend. The group were playing at the Downtown Events Center in the city on May 27th as part of the festival, when they chose too joke about the October 2017 Las Vegas, NV shooting, where an armed gunman killed 58 people attending the ‘Route 91 Harvest Festival‘, while injuring over 850 others.

During their set, as seen in the footage below, NOFX frontman/guitarist Fat Mike joked: “We played a song about Muslims and we didn’t get shot. Alright.”

Guitarist Eric Melvin added: “I guess you only get shot in Vegas if you are in a country band.”

Fat Mike responded: “You know that, sucked but at least they were country fans and not punk rock fans.”

Members of the band can then be heard feigning the crowds disapproval, stating “That’s not cool.” Having an exchange among themselves on the joke onstage, they offered “you were all thinking it.” “But he said it.” “Did I offend somebody? I can’t fucking believe it.”

The organizers behind the ‘Punk Rock Bowling‘ festival have since issued the below formal apology on the matter:
