Limp Bizkit, etc. guitarist Wes Borland further explained the long delay for Limp Bizkit‘s forthcoming new album, “Stampede Of The Disco Elephants“. It had previously been stated by Borland that frontman Fred Durst wasn’t happy with where it was at. Speaking to Dean Delray on his ‘Let There Be Talk‘ podcast late this past summer, Borland stated:
“There’s a record that has been in the works for a long time that is… You know, not, not at a place where I don’t think it’s gonna be finished anytime soon—Maybe it will, but I’m not sure.
- Advertisement -It’s a bunch of songs that have been floating around for like four years now. Little by little stuff gets added to it. But I think that we’re all into such different stuff that making a Limp Bizkit record is kind of difficult.
None of us… We don’t live in the same city anymore. So I’m not sure what it’s gonna be, or when it’s gonna come out, or what’s going on with it.
It’s weird to be in a situation, where you’re like nobody wants to hear new material anyway. They’re like coming to shows for the nostalgia and want to hear the old songs, so like, what’s the carrot for us to do a new record at this point if we’re all interested in doing other music anyway? If it happens, it will happen at some point.”
He continued:
“We talk about a new record a lot. Right now I’m enjoying making the records that I’m making for myself. If there is a new Limp Bizkit album it will come out when it ever comes out. I think that we were really eager on the heels of “Gold Cobra” to put something else out. But then it just, I don’t know. It wasn’t the right stuff, it wasn’t the right material, it wasn’t the right time, I guess.”
You can hear new music from Borland right now however as his new Big Dumb Face album, “Where Is Duke Lion? He’s Dead…“, hit stores today, October 31st.
