The Foo Fighters landed one of the biggest names in the history of rock n’ roll for their forthcoming album, “Concrete And Gold“. Frontman/guitarist Dave Grohl has revealed that none other than Sir Paul McCartney of The Beatles fame sits in on drums on a track on the effort. Grohl recently told ET Canada:
“Paul McCartney plays drums on one of our songs. He’s a pal. We’ve known him for a long. He’s great. He’s the most wonderful person in the world. He’s a great guy.”

The band further added:
“He hadn’t even heard of the song. He comes in and Dave picked up an acoustic and showed him real quick. He sat on his special drum set that his tech set up for him. I sat there with a drumstick conducting. He did two takes.”
Grohl is still teasing a very high profile guest star on the album, but has yet to reveal their identity. Thus far he has shot down rumors of it being Adele or Taylor Swift, though confirmed the guest’s involvement is a backup vocal part. Other guests set for “Concrete And Gold” include Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Mean and Alison Mosshart of The Kills. “Concrete And Gold” will be released on September 15th.
