Stone Temple Pilots To Release 25th Anniversary Box Set Edition Of "Core"

Stone Temple Pilots are plotting a 25th anniversary super deluxe edition of their 8x platinum 1992 debut album “Core” on September 29th. Rhino will handle the release of the effort, which will land on the exact date of the album’s 25th anniversary. A number of release formats are planned, including the “Core: Super Deluxe Edition” that will feature a remastered version of the album on one of its four CD’s, a vinyl copy of the original album and a DVD.

Various previously unreleased demos and live performances will be featured, as well as the band’s ‘MTV Unplugged‘ appearance. Also included are a copy of the album on vinyl as well as a DVD featuring a 5.1 surround sound mix of the album and the music videos for its four singles. The whole thing will come packaged in a hardcover book featuring rare and unseen photographs with only 15,000 to be made available worldwide.

Additionally, the first 1,000 pre-orders will receive a replica of the 7″ single for “Plush” that was released in the UK in 1993. You can find those pre-order options at stonetemplepilots.com.

Other planned release formats include a 2-CD ‘Deluxe Version’ of “Core” featuring the newly remastered edition of the album as well as the b-sides and rarities found in the “Core: Super Deluxe Edition“.
