Metallica Continue To Hold On To #2 Spot On Billboard Top 200 Thanks To Ticket Promotion


Metallica‘s decision to include copies of their new album “Hardwired…To Self-Destruct” with ticket purchases for their upcoming North American tour continues to reap benefits for the band. The group have held on to the #2 position of the Billboard Top 200 chart for a second week in a row as a result of the marketing strategy.

According to Billboard, 102,000 units were shifted (100,000 in traditional album sales) this past week. The upward trend began earlier this month with the ticket sales promotion pushing sales of the album up from #14 to #2 on the Top 200 with 81,000 copies shifted.
