Harley Flanagan (Cro-Mags, etc.) has launched a new crowdfunding campaign to benefit ailing Bad Brains guitarist Gary “Dr. Know” Miller. A new EP from Flanagan‘s outfit Hard-Core will be released later in the year with money being raised via Pledgemusic.com. 48% of what is earned will be donated directly to Miller. Flanagan commented:
“When Gary Miller A/K/A Dr Know the guitarist for the Bad Brains got sick I wanted to do something to help him, so I reached out to my old band members to see if we could do a benefit or a reunion show, but that didn’t work out. Dr. Know and the Bad Brains were a huge influence on my music, on the Cro-Mags and close personal friends of mine and my family. I am releasing the first song from my new LP coming out this year to support Dr Know and his family.”

Miller suffered a cardiac arrest in late 2015 which led to complete organ failure. He continues to recover and is still suffering from numbness in his hands. More on his condition can be read here.
