Motograter Drummer Noah “Shark” Robertson Fires Back At Flaw Frontman

Motograter drummer Noah “Shark” Robertson has fired back at Flaw frontman Chris Volz in response to making various accusations about the group, including drug abuse and more. Robertson responded via Facebook, offering:

“I woke up this morning to a flurry of messages and texts, asking me why Christopher Volz, the lead singer of Flaw, is publicly bashing Zombie Shark Records and Motograter. To be completely honest, I have no idea why, and it breaks my heart to see this because I’ve been a huge fan of Flaw for over a decade. When I found out Motograter was going on tour with Flaw, I was beyond excited. However, here we are… the tour is over and apparently Chris has issues with the band, and me personally for some reason. As much as I love Chris and Flaw, there isn’t any part of me that is capable of sitting idle, not saying anything or addressing the issue. I simply cannot.

First of all, Chris states that Zombie Shark Records is not a label. I beg to differ. I really can’t explain why he chose to pick ZSR as a target. Motograter is signed to EMP Label Group. Zombie Shark Records is MY baby. My own personal project. And like everything else in my life, I have put a significant amount of work and sacrifice into this record label. It’s something I truly believe in. This is just one of the many reasons why you are WRONG Chris. Zombie Shark Records IS a label, and we aren’t stopping anytime soon.

Chris goes on to say that: “Motogtrator is and has always been a want to be, but not capable of being Ivan from 5fdp, there is not a single member who is in that band who has ever been in a band with Ivan or 5fdp or any original memer of the band, it is disgusting the way that it has been handled, 5fdp, would never endorse this crap, and won’t.”

Chris, you are wrong on so many levels, that I truly don’t know where to begin. We definitely aren’t trying to “be Ivan Moody or Five Finger Death Punch“. Speaking for myself, I joined this band because, just like Flaw, I have always been a huge fan of the band. When I saw an opportunity to help resurrect one of my favorite bands of all time, I jumped at the chance.

I wish people truly knew the work and sacrifice and struggle that it has gone into getting band back to where it should be. This is why his words cut so deep. We have poured every once of our hearts and souls into this project and this new music. We aren’t trying to live under a shadow of the past. We are breaking out on our own and standing on our own two feet, and I’d like to say we are doing a pretty damn good job of that. We are creating this new music because we are passionate about the band and the fans. That’s it. We are MOTOGRATER and we aren’t going ANYWHERE.

When you say that nobody is an “original member” or has “never been in a band with Ivan Moody“, you couldn’t be more wrong. Nuke has been a part of Motograter since 2003! He is on the original album with Ivan and is in all the music videos. Mylon has been in this band for around 9 years! And to say that “5fdp would never endorse this crap”… Well, Chris Kael from 5FDP came out to a show in Vegas, when we were on tour with American Head Charge recently, and had nothing but good things to say.

Ivan Moody attended a Motograter show at The Whisky in Hollywood. He said he loved the new songs and couldn’t wait to hear the new album. He completely and wholeheartedly gave us his blessing. And it meant a lot. Endorse this “crap”? I think they do.

Chris Volz goes on to say that “This Hed PE run we almost did was stopped by drugs and an inability to deal with coke, meth, heroin, and pills…. I can no longer stand by and not speak my mind. No one will faulter me. The idiots will go away, or I will…. Enough said. BAM!”

I have no idea what is going on in the Flaw camp, I just know they were going to do a tour with Hed PE and had to drop off the tour and Motograter took their place. When he talks about coke, meth, herion, and pills, I can only assume he is talking about Flaw, himself, or other members of Flaw. We don’t have any of that going on in Motograter and it’s the reason we have been able to climb so far.

What I CAN say is that I hope Chris gets the help he needs. He has an amazing voice and has the ability to change lives with his music. His words have saved people and have brought people happiness, joy, and understanding. I know, because I was one of them. When Motograter toured with Flaw, I witnessed quite a lot of erratic, irrational, and violent behavior from the Flaw front man.

He clearly has an alcohol problem and threatened to “pull out a gun and kill everyone” at various shows, NUMEROUS TIMES. My first thought was to contact the authorities or let the tour manager know, but I didn’t want to cause problems or overstep my boundaries. After this recent happening though, I cannot keep quiet. The guy was completely WASTED the entire tour.

Chris, I love you man. I love the band. I hope you can overcome the demons that have plagued you and you can continue to be a voice for people that have none. But for now… FUCK YOU! <3

No one will “faulter” you? It’s spelled “falter”.

Chris states, “the idiots will go away, or I will… Enough said. BAM!”

Right now, as far as I can see, YOU are the idiot. Maybe YOU should go away. Enough said. BAM!”
