100’s of Limp Bizkit fans attended a concert the band were alleged to play yesterday, April 20th, at a gas station in Dayton, Ohio. Given the venue, the show was unsurprisingly a hoax—one masterminded by Brian Baker, spread largely by a fake tweet and Facebook event. The hoax took off to the point that various bootlegt-shirts were printed up, as you can see in the video report below, via fox45now.com.
Some fans were aware that it was all a hoax and came down to hang out regardless. The resulting throng of fans that did show up forced the gas station to close, with police in attendance to keep the gathering contained, before eventually dispersing it. While Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst had confirmed the concert was a hoax in advance, it appears the event may actually bring the band around:
@JairKessinger then we just might have to figure something out, somehow
