Fragile Mortals

DMC (Run DMC) & Generation Kill Form New Band Fragile Mortals

As part of Run DMC, rapper Daryl “DMC” McDaniels was a pioneer of rap & rock coming together thanks to their pairing with Aerosmith on a revamped version of “Walk This Way” in 1986. DMC has tried his hand at metal in the many years since, including this pairing with late Static-X frontman, Wayne Static. Fragile Mortals is the name of his latest foray into metal, which finds him teamed up with members of Generation Kill, who feature former Exodus vocalist Rob Dukes. Dukes commented:

“It’s really cool, ’cause it’s different than anything I’ve ever done before. It’s challenging as fuck to not be a shit rap/metal band, to kind of bring those two together. ‘Cause I’m not really a metalhead; I’m more like a rock and roll kind of [guy].”

A new album is expected later in the year, but Generation Kill will also guest on DMC‘s forthcoming new solo album, which should arrive in the next few months.
