New York City hardcore vets Agnostic Front have welcomed some NYC rap royalty on their latest single, “Matter Of Life & Death“. Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels of RUN-D.M.C. guests on that new collaboration, which is the second single to emerge from Agnostic Front‘s next album “Echoes In Eternity“.
RUN-DMC are pioneers of combing rap and rock, with their 80s collaboration with Aerosmith seen as being a seminal release for the then fledgling genre. The multi-platinum rap trio would go on to further explore the worlds of rock and rap with a contribution to the legendary ‘Judgment Night‘ soundtrack. Later releases in their career found them collaborating with Fred Durst, Tom Morello, Kid Rock and more.
A November 07th release date has been scheduled for that 13th studio effort from the band. Blake Farber directed the video for the track, while Agnostic Front vocalist Roger Miret had the following to say of the song:
“Guest vocals on this song is the legendary Darryl “DMC” McDaniels of RUN-DMC with his fierce style just flowing through the verse and joining the band for the chorus! In this song we speak of survival through dark times and trying not to regress but sometimes you are pinned by those dogs that aggressively corner you up against a wall. Basically, you have no choice but to strike as you are trying to leave that life.”
