Once tipped as the most viable candidate to stand in for late Pantera guitarist ‘Dimebag’ Darrell Abbott in a possible live reunion of the band, guitarist Zakk Wylde has commented on the recent actions of the band’s former singer, Philip Anselmo. Those actions were a series of racist outbursts/gestures made by Anselmo at the recent ‘Dimebash‘, which he has now apologized for a number of times. Speaking with Fuse, Wylde stated:
“Phil, what are you doing, man? ‘Cause the Phil I know, Phil‘s always a sweetheart and always hugs and kisses and he’s nice to everybody, man.
So then, then I’m watching this, and when I saw the video, I’m, like, ‘What are you doing, man?’ But he apologized, and he knows he’s wrong, man. And it just got canceled, that one tour or whatever, so, and the promoters are gonna be, like, ‘Uh… This ain’t good.’ So we’ll see, we just sit back and see what happens now. I’m pretty much like everybody else, just as bummed out and upset and saddened by the whole thing, man.”
