The Turbulent Life & Final Days Of Scott Weiland Recalled By His Family & Friends

Billboard have posted a revealing look at the final days of the late former Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland and the circumstances that likely contributed to his untimely demise. While his rampant abuse of drugs and struggles with them is covered in detail, there’s also word of his financial woes, his struggles with bipolar disorder—a high dosage of anti-psychotic drug Geodon was to blame for his infamously disastrous Corpus Christi set—the trauma (being raped) that he endured as a youth and other factors.

Various family and friends have contributed to the piece, which can be read here. Weiland‘s December 03rd, 2015 death was eventually ruled an accidental overdose of cocaine, ecstasy & alcohol. Weiland‘s ex-wife (and mother of his two children) Mary Forsberg decried fans trying to glamorize his death, instead publishing an unflattering portrait of an absentee father. She declined to be interviewed for the feature mentioned above.
