Tommy Black, bassist for Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts, has been cleared of drug possession charges in relation to Scott Weiland‘s death. Black was initially arrested after police searched Weiland‘s tour bus at the time of his death. He was potentially facing a possession charge after cocaine was said to be found around his belongings in the bus. Those charges were dropped after police realized the complexities of pursuing them, given the shared nature of the bus. Deputy Bloomington Police Chief Mike Hartley told People.com:
“[The narcotics] were found in a bunk and obviously with several people residing on a bus a number of people could have potentially possessed those narcotics, so at the end of the day we decided not to pursue charges against him.”

Weiland was found dead on that bus on December 03rd, 2015 at the age of 48. It was recently determined that his cause of death was an accidental overdose of cocaine, MDA and alcohol.
