If you’re one of the 1,064 people who contributed to Cold‘s 2014 crowdfunding campaign for a live DVD/live double-album, you may be wondering when you will get what you paid for. Previously the band had cited issues with a production company for the effort, which they at the time had expected to have out in July. Frontman Scooter Ward has now checked in with the following update on the effort, this time mentioning problem’s back at home with his family and the decision to have the album mixed by someone else:
“Army –
First off, my apologies yet again for the delay of the live album/dvd. I am beyond upset at myself for letting this happen.
I have always been able to be present during all things Cold related. Making sure everything is perfect and all of you get what you expect from this band. Shortly after we filmed the show last summer something bad happened that out of respect for my family’s privacy I will not mention.
I will say that I had to separate myself from the project to be with my family which delayed the progress as we are indeed producing and fulfilling each and every one of these items ourselves. It has been a challenge to say the least with all that life as throw in the way of myself and the band.
On the bright side, this project – the first of it’s kind for our fans – was the catalyst to what I am most excited about: our upcoming record and world tour… something that would not have happened had you guys not shown up for us the way that you did. You exceeded our expectations and THEN SOME.
We have worked hard to return those many favors and are certain that the end result will satisfy our campaign contributors and fans alike. This is a special chapter in Cold‘s story and it exists because of you, the army.
After reading some of your messages. My heart is outside of myself right now knowing that you guys felt abandoned… and I would feel the exact same way. I will be spending more time on FB as we begin to record and we are going to keep you guys posted as we are mailing out your perks.
You don’t understand how happy we are to have this project complete – it has been the greatest and most difficult thing but has led to new life in the world of Cold and we can’t wait for the WAIT to be over.
As to what has caused the most recent delay – we approached to have someone truly gifted mix the record that we just couldn’t pass up – so as much time as we spent doing it ourselves – we chose once again to hold the release so that the final product would be the absolute best that it can be.
Mixing will be finished in a week and everything is on standby otherwise. The turn-around times for all production and fufillment have been expedited to the maximum extent possible.
New record is slated to begin recording this winter. Can’t wait to see you all on the road. The time is near!

The live footage for the effort was filmed during a Jacksonville, FL concert in July of 2014. Cold raised $75,400 USD for the project back in April of 2014, surpassing their $45,000 USD goal.
