Some more artists have chimed in on Senses Fail and Attila‘s beef over homophobic slurs. Breathe Carolina vocalist David Schmitt implied some hypocrisy on Senses Fail‘s part, while The Word Alive frontman Tyler “Telle” Smith has shown support for Attila and free expression. You can see their comments below:
@SensesFail but saying " I wanna kill you I wanna kill you I'll EAT your heart out" is not offensive. Mmmmkkkk

@davidlovesit I am not sure it as offensive as the word faggot.

@davidlovesit AlsoI wrote that song when I was 17 and in my parents basement I wasn't very mindful of how my words might affect other people

All this talk about what's acceptable to sing about… Don't like something? Don't listen. Tweeting about it won't change anything.

Music should make you think & even be offensive at times & should make you uncomfortable. Be different. Don't apologize for being yourself.

+ the Attila dudes have always been rad to TWA, SF were dicks when I met them. Plus I'm sure they've offended their fair share of people…

@FRONZ1LLA Keep making $ in an industry that constantly fails musicians, breeds dead end careers filled w/ jaded band dudes. Let 'em talk ??
— TelleSmith (@TelleTWA) October 24, 2014
Attila frontman Chris Fronzak replied directly to Smith‘s comments, adding:
@TelleTWA amen dude ?? if only the world knew how genuinely nice & happy of a person I am haha. I'm the internet's bullseye& that's fine ??
