Partying is such sweet sorrow.

Wilson‘s brand of indulgent party rock thrives on the recklessness of youth and the ‘live for the moment’ spark that creates a million hangovers every weekend (and weekday) morning.

The bands sound is essentially a combination of The Bronx‘s punk rock work ethic, Every Time I Die‘s subversive social friction and He Is Legend‘s penchant for heartfelt off-kilter melodies. Such an amalgam has obvious benefits as the group eagerly rip and roar through a collection of songs laced with beer and blood soaked fervor and wit.

In fact, the material they write at times sounds like a fantasy team-up of the above mentioned outfits—albeit at a drunken housewrecker with gear setup in the basement. But the downside to being immediately familiar is just what you’d think—Wilson‘s identity is clouded by their apparent influences.

It’s not enough to stop “Full Blast Fuckery” from delivering exactly what such an album title promises. It’s just that for now, it’s a bit hard to fully see Wilson as their own entity until they are able to truly find their own niche.
