Primus‘ platinum selling 1991 effort “Sailing The Seas Of Cheese” will receive a new release on May 21st. The new version of the album was re-mixed in stereo and Dolby 5.1 surround with the self-described ‘restoration’ personally overseen by band vocalist/bassist Les Claypool.
Universal Music Enterprises will be issuing this deluxe edition of the effort, which will feature the stereo mix on CD and the 5.1 mix available as either a Blu-ray or DVD. Three previously-unreleased bonus tracks will appear on the effort; they include two live recordings captured during the bands 2012 ‘3D Tour‘; plus a remix of “Here Come The Bastards” done by Bassnectar.
Claypool‘s new stereo mix of the album will also receive a vinyl release on May 21st with 1000 unmarked, randomly selected copies to be pressed on yellow vinyl rather than the standard black pressing.
