The surviving members of Nirvana (Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic) have reportedly teamed up with Pat Smear (ex-Nirvana/Foo Fighters, etc.) and Sir Paul McCartney on a new track. The group will apparently unveil the new song at a benefit concert for Hurricane Sandy tonight, December 12th, at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY. The event will be broadcast live throughout various TV stations and websites, with a complete listing available at 121212concert.org.
McCartney as apparently oblivious to the reunion he was fronting, telling Thesun.co.uk:
“I didn’t really know who they were. They are saying how good it is to be back together. I said ‘Whoa? You guys haven’t played together for all that time? And somebody whispered to me ‘That’s Nirvana. You’re Kurt.’ I couldn’t believe it.”
