Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst has confirmed that the band have parted ways with longtime label home, Interscope Records. Durst confirmed the news via a recent episode of “Poolside With Dean Delray“. A choice quote (from around 1:05 into the interview) making the rounds online from that can be found below:
“One of the things with Gold Cobra was that that was a record, for us, to do for ourselves, for the core fans, for some of the people that we know in the industry — its wasn’t our step forward to make a big pop, smash radio record; we just didn’t wanna make that record at that time… We have been working for awhile now to renavigate where we are going to take Limp Bizkit, and finally we have been able to get off our label and become independent.”
During the interview Durst also speaks at length about his upcoming sitcom, the bands decision to primarily tour outside of the U.S. and the possibility of playing multiple night shows that focus on specific albums from the bands career.
All that and more are discussed during the interview, which is listed as November 22nd on the aforementioned site (note the interview starts at about 56:40 in.) As an added bonus the November 29th episode has Durst in costume and character as “Kirby.”
