Recent touring from pop darling Beyoncé saw her adapt Slayer‘s logo for a ‘Slayoncé’ pin (see below courtesy of Ayesha King, wife of Slayer guitarist Kerry King.) Of course the pin is merely the latest cashgrab in high-end fashion’s current obsession with metal culture and merch designs. A rather genius series of embroidered patches and pins available over at Bigcartel.com at least take things in an appreciably ironic direction, adapting various r&b and rap artists names into the iconic logo styles of various metal and punk acts.
You can see some highlights above, including Black Street in the style of Black Sabbath, Eazy-E in the style of Sunn O))), KRS-One in the style of Kreator, Mos Def in the style of Megadeth and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony in the style of Behemoth. There’s a lot more to be found at this location.
