You may have noticed lately that a number of musicians in various metal and hard rock bands have been promoting certain video games via their social media accounts. Unsurprisingly that has been a calculated marketing move on the part of of video game publishers, who have been paying/giving the musicians free copies of the software in exchange for promotion. It’s a fairly common practice, though generally associated more with clothing, alcoholic beverages, energy drinks and of course, musical instruments and accessories.
The decision to get Breaking Benjamin founder Ben Burnley to promote the recently-released ‘Star Wars: Battlefront‘ game may have backfired a bit however, as Burnley did the following with his copy:
