Limp Bizkit On New Album: “This One Is For Nu Metal Rock Fans. No One Else.”

Limp Bizkit are being rather upfront with the direction of their new studio album, “Stampede Of The Disco Elephants“. The band are currently recording the album and progress has been brisk. According to a studio update posted via their Facebook earlier today (November 13th):

“Songs eleven and twelve tracked. All drums for Stampede of the Disco Elephants are finished. Way to go John Otto aka Ottomatic.”

A post made on the same page an hour later summed up the intentions of the album:

“FYI- this is a nu metal rock album. Not for radio. Not for commercial use. Our focus is on our band and our desire to rock the fuck out. As you know radio does not rock. So be it. This one is for nu metal rock fans. No one else.”

A release next year through Cash Money Records is being planned for the outing.

    well, that’s a relief.

  • EyeOfEveryScorn

Fuck yeah, take ME to the Matthews Bridge!

    • Houmie

Just to be clear, you’re talking to John Otto right?

  • SiX50SiD

as long as Tampa knows how to

  • SLAYERGUY79

I bet all 10 ‘nu-metal rock fans’ are ecstatic.

    • dmoe

      lol

  • cma3585

I’m still a nu-metal fan but honestly that one song that leaked was anything but nu-metal. It was alternative rock with rapping and rnb elements. Basically it was modern Linkin Park.

  • JohnnyWetTowel

I love how, “…As you know radio does not rock…”, is stated so matter-of-factly.

  • kturl69

You know we figured you out. Well I’m sick of you too! You’re a counterfeit!

  • AaronMun83

The Nu-Metal Genre spawned a lot of good bands If you ask me, and Not to mention older artists like Ozzy and Slayer were even inspired to change there style up a bit mixing in some of the Nu-Metal elements, KoRn celebrate there 20 year anniversary as a band in 2013 New Limp Bizkit album who say’s Nu-Metal is dead!?!? Yeah Fuc**ng right!!

    • WURST

Ozzy and Slayer incorporated elements of nu-metal in their music?! You are out of your fucking mind, dude. Punch yourself in the nuts immediately.

      Nu-metal is dead.

    • cma3585

Slayer dumbed down their playing and dropped their tuning on Diabolus. King hates that album and himself for putting out that album. Not like there was any rapping or DJs on it but it still fit in structurally with what was going on at the time.

Ozzy…no. His sound always evolved album to album since Rhoads died and I can’t say Down To Earth was anything but yet another progression in his sound.

    • Fred Fred Burger (Darkdevout)

SOAD is still pretty awesome ;)

      • AaronMun83

Not really! First album only! They sold out just compare there first album with there second album!

      • Houmie

Evolution doesn’t mean “selling out”. System’s first album was incredible, but they deserve credit for continuing to evolve and producing one fantastic album after another. In my opinion Hypnotize and Mesmerize are up there as their most mature and best work. Each one of their albums brought something new to the table.

  • allichs

I don’t give a rat’s ass if I’m the only one here looking forward to this.

    • Dax

You’re not the only one. I’m not sure if you’re being sarcastic – but I’ll be honest, I’m looking forward to it hahaha! The musicians alone are enough for me. John Otto is one of the best! I’ll definitely be giving it a chance. And I admire their attitude hahaha. Man, the Unquestionable Truth was so raw – it was just missing Otto.

      • allichs

These guys were one the first bands that brought me into heavy music; and one of the most important things in life is to never forget where you came from.

      • FarBeyondDriven

        allichs,

I’m down with not forgetting where you came from… but sometimes you just don’t need to go back. I’m pretty sure my mom would get upset if I decided to take my 6’2″, 285 lb self over to her house and climb into her uterus. I had an LB moment and I can even admit to not hating The Unquestionable Truth Pt 1… however, Fred Durst has proven that he is a Chameleon looking for a buck… some people stick to who they are and plug away till people respect them. Others, like Durst, have respect and walk away from themselves trying to make that green. It is what it is.

    • Iamyourmom

i feel you bro. i liked the unquestionable truth part 1 and was hoping for a part 2. I have the first 2 albums and the one with the new guitarist. then when unquestionable truth came out it was a sign that this band still had hope. ill give this album a listen to but something tells me i still wont like freds voice

    • hillkillz

Your defiantly not the only ones! I love Limp Bizkit. Iv’e been listening to them since i was little. My dad got me into them and i grew up listening to them. Their a great band and a lot of people don’t like them, but that doesn’t bother me. I cant wait for the new album, i own ever album and i’m looking forward to it.

      • My Farts Linger

        You’re*, definitely*, they’re*, every*

Spellcheck, *there’s* an app for that!

      • My Farts Linger

        Oh yeah, and I’ve*.

      • rageofthemage

        Seriously bro… DEFIANTLY?

Definitely. Look at those two words. They aren’t even close. Like not even a little bit. You could have gone with definately, definutly, or fuck even deffonotly, and you would have at least been phonetically close, but to actually type d-e-f-i-a-n-t-l-y while saying the word “definitely” and be like “yeah that looks about right” blows my mind.

But then again… you do listen to Limp Bizkit.

FYI that’s not how you spell biscuit. I’m not sure if you knew that so I’m just clarifying for you.

  • They Ate Their Macaroons in Silence

Holy balls how was this not covered on ThePRP?
    Coolest shit ever!
    http://www.bargetohell.com/artists.htm

    • They Ate Their Macaroons in Silence

I see someone would rather have an 8-some at a casino with the fellers in Mushroomhead.

  • My Farts Linger

They have resorted to going back to “nu-metal” because it is literally the only halfway decent music/sound they can make.

Seriously, who is looking forward to this? You know, besides people that actually enjoy shitty music.

There are only two “nu-metal” bands that survived/progressed (in my opinion): Sevendust and Deftones.

    • WURST

Totally agree with that last sentence.

    • Fred Fred Burger (Darkdevout)

Linkin Park? maybe not good but they survived and progressed.

      • kturl69

Sevendust and Deftones 100% but Linkin Park? Ah, don’t think so champ.

      • NoCareEver

Linkin Park still sells millions of albums and plays in arenas and amphitheaters. I think disagreeing that they survived OR progressed is silly at best.

      • kturl69

Linkin Park still sucks tho. So your point is null and void.

      • WURST

NoEverCare, selling millions of albums doesnt mean your shit is the bomb. Regardless, LP is weak as fuck. The point Kturl is trying to make is that Sevendust has lasted and progressed and is still consistently making solid records unlike LP who continues to sell mass amounts of records simply because of their name. How many of their fans that purchased the last two albums actually still listen to those albums? Probably 10% of them.

      • Fred Fred Burger (Darkdevout)

“selling millions of albums doesnt mean your shit is the bomb. ” We never made that argument, I was merely saying LP survived and “progressed”(depending on how you want to use the term) from doing just nu metal, they’ve become a very successful mainstream rock band and henceforth survived.

      • cma3585

Honestly I think Sevendust got REALLY boring for that 3 album span when Lowery left the band. Those albums were anything but solid, they were mailed in. Regardless, after he rejoined the band, they’re back to solid with Cold Day Memory and hopefully the new one as well.

      • My Farts Linger

The only “weak” Sevendust album in my opinion is Hope & Sorrow. Even so, there are some good tracks on it. To me, Alpha is one of their best albums and that was also during Lowery’s absence.

      • rageofthemage

        Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh MACHINE HEAD EVERYONE?

        Jesus tapdancing Christ.

      • My Farts Linger

        Survived, yes, progressed, NO.

    • AaronMun83

Disagree! Dez from Devildriver carried on in the business because he was discovered in a nu metal band! Korn and The Deftones were NU-Metal but both of these bands have grown and expanded there sound so they are not known as Nu Metal anymore! and Let’s not forget Hed pe, Fear Factory, Staind, Spineshank, and Soulfly! Nu Metal is never gonna die you can moan and cry about it all day, But the true fans who’s hearts are still into it will never let it die…

      • WURST

I dont, and never have, considered Deftones nu-metal. If you do, you’re an idiot. Fear Factory may have “gotten their nu-metal on” for like a few songs over a two album span. Not like Machine Head who nu-metal’ed out with The Burning Red and Supercharger.

      • cma3585

And yes, if you can step aside as fanboy extraordinaire which most of this site can’t…Deftones were 100% nu-metal on their first albums. White Pony they started experimenting and branching out and that one was harder to classify.

      • AaronMun83

Deftones were nu metal on adrenaline and around the fur, Two brilliant albums but they have that nu metal feel, Deftones distanced themselves from Nu-Metal with White Pony quite successfully though!so at the end of the day I really can’t consider ANY bands these days nu-metal as MOST of them have left that part of there sound in the past, Nu-Metal is a term that doesn’t exist anymore but is still very much Indented into heavy music as a whole, It’s there but you really can’t see it, it’s AMAZING how unappreciated it is most of your favorite bands wouldn’t be here without this movement! not to mention it was a gateway style of rock/metal that really ushered in a hell of a lot of fans to metal music!!

  • http://www.myspace.com/orangepeelsunshine whatisyourforte

i guess this in nu-metal jargon means that the new album is going to be both more melodic and heavier at the same time.

  • gornron

You have got to be fucking kidding me. Gather ’round, all you chipped-tooth, overly and poorly tattooed tragically-stuck-in-the-90s knuckleheads, let’s have a sweaty circle jerk! Keep rollin’, rollin’, rollin!

    My god.

    • BooThisMan

Well when you put it that way it def has some appeal

  • HonkeyKong

Limp Bizkit actually focusing on the music and not the money?
Watch this actually be their best album ever and go down as Best Album of the Year.
I’ll shit my pants in laughter.
Life you dirty whore with your sick humor and irony.

“This one is for nu metal rock fans. No one else.”

“No one understands art or satire.Thats why my new shirt will be a picture of the world trade center burning saying “Burning down the house.” because while Limp Bizkit was a heavy influence David Byrne was a god to me. A spiritual leader like Ryu, Guile or Crash Bandicoot.”

  • Lifeseclipse

I was kinda wishing that the quote would have actually read, “this one is for no one else” and then they just simply neglect to release it.

  • dmoe

Durst just pulled a Kevin Smith.

    • WURST

      Detroit Lions?

      • EyeOfEveryScorn

        HAHA.

He’s pulling a Dominic Raiola. Been around for way too long…

      • BlueBalls

Durst pulled a Raiola? So he went downfield to make a block and just dove straight at the ground? Weird.

  • Living Phetus

what the hell happened to “We were a moment in time and now its over?”

Apparently its never over as long as people will keep believing that the next album “is gonna be the rawest heaviest thing LB has ever released,” as Durst is known for saying about every record since Significant Other.

    • emvath

Yeah, but this one really will be.

    • WURST

      Damn you, Europe. Damn you.

  • The Shark™

To anyone that thinks Limp Bizkit is a good band, please contact me. I have a bridge that I’d like to sell you.

    • WURST

I think they are excellent at sucking.

      • Iamyourmom

do you got a band bro? just curious cause i see you trolling along this prp site all the time with your opinions on how certain bands suck. so id like to know if you got a band that you put your heart and talent into? simple question

    • RUREADY2JIGGLE?

      Is it a Matthew’s bridge?

      • The Shark™

It’s any kind of bridge you want it to be.

  • AaronMun83

Even Hardcore Scream0 Bands like Suicide Silence, Mitch Lucker has said time and time again He wouldn’t have been a musician without the First Korn and Deftones Cassette tapes that he owned, these bands even inspired Deathcore style bands! That right there is pretty amazing!

  • Nitram

    Hi Alana

  • Iamyourmom

I Wouldnt say Nu metal is dead its just not done anymore because people follow trends. and at one point nu metal was a trend. I personally like certain “nu metal” bands. But some have not lived up to expectations and have not evolved as a band. Some say DEFTONES are nu metal but i disagree. deftones are their own sound. they have their own METAL. i just call it HEAVY. there is no certain type of metal that is defined as “the right kind of metal” so nu metal is stupid as shit! limp bizkit- the unquestionable truth part 1 was something good! the truth video was a big eye opener and i had hope for wes and the bizkit. john otto is a mad drummer! sam is a smooth keep it in the pocket bass player, wes is a metal head waiting to come out of this alien persons body, dj lethal. well he was good and he was good in house of pain but im sure he did it all for the money as well. do you wanna live in a car or do you want a nice pad you can bring hott bitches over to chill and have a good time? bottom line is i dont concider nu metal dead. this is the time for HIPSTER BANDS so right now were in the “ripster” era. its a sad time for music.

  • http://www.myspace.com/oldironsidesmusic Stenny

Wasn’t ‘Gold Cobra’ a return to form? (with 5 good songs).

  • chevelle1984

I love watching all the trolling and arguing and butt-hurt and classifications by “P.H.D.s” in music…etc. Everyone has their opinion and most of them all seem wrong to everyone. It’s like a high-school gym class argument about the WWF, but on a message board about hard rock and metal bands. Wook keeps posting because he knows it’s a great show. This site wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for a lot of those bands. You can’t deny that. No one can. Gives me a laugh every day to read the comments on here, and also gives me a sense of fulfillment to read the news. Keep at it you crazy fucks.

  • PaulPogues

worst band ever! they’re a fuckin joke!

    • Relentless_Beating

Ever heard Nickleback? Not really wanting to defend this band, but in the long run, if I had to make a life choice, I’ll take some old school LB.

      • dmoe

That’s a shit roulette game no one wants. How about they both blow enough to not warrant picking either one?

      • Relentless_Beating

Ok, I could agree to this, BUT lets just say it came down to a ‘we will kill your first born” situation. Who would you take? I have to say LB right now.

  • ocillotist

remember LB opening for FNM on the Album Of The Year tour, they were alright…
