Slayer’s Kerry King On New Album: “You Know What You’re Gonna Get”

Slayer guitarist Kerry King recently told Thetoneking.com that fans shouldn’t expect much change with their new album. Speaking on that, he offered:

“They can expect the same record we’ve been giving them for the last 20 years. That’s basically what it is. [Slayer is] like the AC/DC of thrash metal. You know what you’re gonna get.”

He continued:

“The unpredictableness is the predictable part of it. You know, we keep the train on the tracks, but you know we experiment with anything we can think of on the way.”

Initial sessions for the effort took place earlier this year. The band expect to enter the studio again later this summer to finish up work on the outing.

    • these statements seem contradictory. how do you know what you’re going to get if they’re actually being expirimental? that said, I’m actually excited about this. Can’t say the same about acdc

I think he mainly means equipment they use, and things like that.

Like when they switched to 7 strings, I remember an interview with Kerry saying this was their biggest experimental album yadda yadda, and it just turned out to be the 7 strings where used, and that was it.
