Molotov Solution Call It Quits

Molotov Solution have called it quits. Band frontman Nick Arthur had the following to say about the situation:

“Bad news guys: First off, I want to thank everyone for all or any support given to help us through the years. Secondly, I want to apologize to our friends and fans for canceling our upcoming shows and tours. It has been a great adventure, but unfortunately I have reached a point where I can no longer continue touring full time. A realization I initially made a couple years ago, but tried to push through for the rest of the band and the fans.

Future plans for Molotov Solution are still up in the air, as I would not like to see this be the end. Please continue to support our members in their future endeavors. Either way, we will all continue creating music. Thank you for your time and support. We have dropped all upcoming tours and shows as a result. Nick.”

Band guitarist Richie Gomez stated:

“I’ve been trying to avoid doing this but I can’t answer everybody’s questions right now and this is going to be easiest. Molotov Solution has had a long and bumpy ride for many years and has always been fighting to stay above water. All of the hard work and effort sometimes doesn’t always weigh out for some and if things must be changed, then so be it. There wasn’t tension within the band by any means, just different plans for one another.

With all that being said, YES, Molotov Solution is done.

We made handfuls of great friends and met a lot of awesome people. This band gave us all sorts of opportunities and experience. For now, I believe the rest of the guys and I are just going to be adjusting to the changes and figuring out what our future holds for us.

I just know I’m not done with music quite yet.”

The problem might have been that there were no founding members left after Robbie left them so shortly after the release of “Insurrection”. Sucks, though.

Why can’t any band ever just be straight forward about why they are breaking up or kicking a member out? Just once I’d like to see a statement like “We’ve made the decision to continue on w/out him cause he’s a fucking asshole.” or “Continuing to play in this band means we will be forever broke, unpopular, and groupie-less which is the exact opposite reason we started it.”

What a coincidence. I was just listening to Insurrection today and for whatever reason I thought to myself “I wonder how much longer these guys can hold up in this day and age?” …Not that I wanted them to call it a day…I really do enjoy rockin’ to their albums. I thought they pulled off the metalcore sound, or whatever it is that people are calling them, really well. Obviously tons of bands have a similar sound. One band that comes to mind is Oceano…and I think they disbanded as well right? lol. Christ.

I don’t think that Molotov Solution and Oceano sound that similar. Both play deathcore and incorporate breakdowns, but that’s pretty much all when it comes to similarities. Molotov Solution are way more melodic and also kind of ‘thrashier’ in my opinion, while Oceano are more about chuggin’ and blastin’ all day long. That being said, Oceano have already ended their hiatus and are working on a new album. Hopefully Molotov Solution will follow in their footsteps and do the same in half a year as well.
