Slipknot/Stone Sour Guitarist Jim Root Pondering Electronica Project With Limp Bizkit Bassist Sam Rivers
Slipknot/Stone Sour guitarist Jim Root is pondering a possible electronica-oriented side project with Limp Bizkit bassist Sam Rivers. Root recently spoke with Backstageaxxess.com about the tentative project, stating:
“I live down in Florida now, and you know Sam from Limp Bizkit lives down there. I ran into him the other day. He came over to my house. He’s got a studio in his house and he’s been writing a lot of like weird kind of electronica kind of music that’s you know kinda aerial and spacey and all that stuff, it was really cool.
It had kind of a weird kind of Portishead vibe to it and I love that band, so I think I might… I mean why not. I don’t have enough projects going on, why not add another one.”
The portion regarding the potential side project starts at 8:23 in. He also mentioned that Stone Sour hope to be in the studio for their new album by March.

Seriously, no one said anything yet?
DUBSTEP!
Didn’t follow the link, but the “…so I think I might… I mean why not. I don’t have enough projects going on, why not add another one.” part, sounded mildly sarcastic.
If I’m this guy, I worry less about making more music, and focus more on banging my old lady.
When I saw Slipknot in 2000, during the show, Corey brought out a poster of Fred, wiped his ass with it, then Shawn set it on fire. I did not expect this to happen.
Not exactly an expected thing, but not crazy either. Slipknot’s hate was/is for fred. Sid I’m pretty sure wanted wes on the dj starscream project
i love Portishead. i’m terrified that this may come to fruition and that i might slip up and hear it.
