DevilDriver Frontman Speaks On Possible Coal Chamber Shows, New DevilDriver & Project With Lamb Of God Guitarist
Following yesterday’s reveal that Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton and DevilDriver frontman Dez Fafara have a new project in the works; comes more details from Fafara. Speaking via a series of tweets he offered the following info on not only the project, but new DevilDriver and the possibility of some Coal Chamber reunion shows:
“Let me address some issues that have come up – words taken from short blurb interviews or twitter accounts .——–
1.NO DevilDriver is NOT taking any Prolonged break – in FACT we are booking through late FEB 2013 ! And are already writing for a new Record That DD will begin working On late next year !
2.I did SAY I would ( Entertain ) the thought of doing some COAL CHAMBER shows- Exactly That-”SOME” Shows – that doesn’t mean Anything but just that SOME shows should opportunity present itself !
3.Yes Mark Morton and I do have about 14 Songs Done or Sketched out it’s been work in progress for over 4 years and no it doesn’t sound at all like DD or LOG and like MARK said He himself ( Does NOT ) Know when or where it will see the light of day as it’s been a very PERSONAL work in progress and MARK is in full Control of WHEN or WHERE it will be heard – Except for our close friends that have been hearing it for years now. Hope this clarifies things”

Prediction: Coal Chamber reunion shows will be European festivals next summer. This will spark People to do the typical “come to indonesia” or some unreasonable request to play somewhere.
coal chamber #1 please come play guam
would only be half worth hearing coal chamber again if they had the devildriver drummer…
Me loco
I just BECAME so annoyed by the WAY he emphasized words THAT didn’t really need to have BEEN.
1. Who asked?
2. Smart way to stir up the buzz for what will likely be 8-10 shows.
3. Your close friends would be all that knew about your work with MARK if it truly was such a personal work in progress.
4. Three line lists are too short.
coal chamber was great from their inception to their innevitable end, but bottom line dez’s prolific musical taste destined him for a larger than life band and i believe devildriver is that vehicle for him, great job dez!!!! on both creating an addicting new take on american metal and for striving to create many memorable devildriver albums no two alike you are indeed a reputable artist that has helped pave the way for bands to step up their game and strive to create original metal!!!!! never stop the DD machine cuz the devil’s sun has just begun!!!
Not sure Coal Chamber’s second album could be considered “great”…
