Killswitch Engage, Cannibal Corpse And The Black Dahlia Murder Members Allegedly Working On New Project Together

Either Adam Dutkiewicz (Killswitch Engage, Times Of Grace) is up to his usual tongue in cheek shenanigans (which is quite possible) or he has a side project with George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher of Cannibal Corpse and The Black Dahlia Murder drummer Shannon Lucas in the works.

During an interview with Lithiummagazine.com early last month, the following exchange transpired:

“Mike: And lastly, what is currently on your schedule for the rest of your year? Are you producing anything / writing anything?

Adam: As of right now, Times of Grace is going to go to Australia in September. After that we’re talking about maybe another tour, but we’ll see how that goes. Right now, I think the priority is for me to get writing with my other band. I’d actually like to try and record my other side project as well. I want to get that out.

Mike: What side project is that?

Adam: It’s a death metal side project with the drummer from Black Dahlia Murder and the singer from Cannibal Corpse.”

    • Honestly, I like that these guys are working on side projects…not only does that mean they’re keeping busy. But this is the surest way to get great music more often, from sources that you KNOW can deliver. Instead of wading through the pools of unheard/unproven bands time and time again to try to find some good tunes. I’d rather have to MUCH good music, than a lack there of.

Actually, I think Adam is better outside of Killswitch. There’s so much expectation there. Honestly, I haven’t even dug the last couple of albums. Lyrics were “ehh” and the mastering is just a brickwalled mess. Sounds way better live.

As for George, meh. I really haven’t ever warmed up to his vocals. Didn’t really like him with his last band either. (i will admit that “Kill” is an awesome record though)

In any event, side things like this let folks step outside of what’s expected of them. Feels like it’s worked a bit lately. Bring it on.
